Lighting the Path of Learning

eVidyaloka|October 2025

Since 2011, eVidyaloka has been transforming rural schools by leveraging the power of technology to deliver quality education. Every volunteer who steps into this journey creates a ripple of change. While some impacts are visible in measurable outcomes, most are reflected in the happiness of students, the memories shared, and the positive shifts in their learning journeys.

Lessons That Inspire

Sahana Shankar, a former student of a government school in Koppal District, recalls her early school days. “We had no teachers for English, Mathematics, or Science. But once online classes began, everything changed,” she shares.

She fondly remembers learning English from Mallika Ma’am, whose support helped her overcome her fear of the subject and secure 1st rank in class. Even during the pandemic, when schools were closed, eVidyaloka volunteers continued teaching with enthusiasm through the Learn From Home (LFH) initiative. She recollects, “Teachers like Nagaratna Ma’am and the support of our school community made sure that no student was left behind.”

For Sahana, digital classrooms became more than just a space for lessons—they were opportunities to grow. Participating in quizzes, competitions, and other activities not only boosted her confidence but also helped her develop valuable skills that will support her future educational journey. Sahana is currently in grade 11 studying science, with a goal of scoring 90.45% in her SSLC exams.

This is just one of many stories that highlight how teachers are more than just educators for students—they are mentors and motivators who will continue to inspire them well into the future.

Guidance That Lasts

At GHPS Basavanna Nagara center, a group of students returned to their old school, eager to reconnect with the place that had shaped so many of their early memories. They were hoping their favorite, Shilpa Ma’am, might be free for a quick catch-up.

When the connection was made, the excitement on their faces was evident. After such a long time, the heartfelt conversation that followed was truly touching. With warmth in her voice, Shilpa Ma’am asked, “How are you all studying? Are you able to understand the lessons clearly?”

The students responded enthusiastically, “Yes, Ma’am! The grammar you taught us is incredibly useful. Thank you so much!”

Shilpa Ma’am continued to encourage them, saying, “If you ever have any doubts about your studies, you can personally call me, and I will explain.” This simple yet meaningful interaction left a lasting impression on the students. Even years after leaving school, they felt deeply cared for and connected to their teacher. It was a poignant example of how Shilpa Ma’am’s guidance continues to inspire and support her students, long beyond the classroom.

Whether through the eyes of a grateful student or the loving care of a teacher, these stories remind us that education is about more than lessons—it’s about relationships, guidance, and inspiration. Teachers touch lives in ways that last a lifetime, and students carry those lessons in their hearts forever.
